Last month, I got to work with More Than Fabulous Events at the Dana Powers House for Chris and Heidi’s super fresh Fall wedding. Chris and Heidi are LA locals and Chris is a Helicopter test pilot (super sweet!) and Heidi is going to be a new mom! More Than Fab did such a rad job pulling all the little details together. The awesome flowers we done by the Panacea Flowers.

thanks to verent for capturing this rad sunflare.

these two were pretty much the coolest kids at the party.

These are our rad friends, Christine & Garrett and they are newly weds. The following several images from Necia and I are from their post wedding portrait session also known in the biz as a day after session. Enjoy!

The other day our dear friends Garret and Christine were featured on Style Me Pretty which is super rad. Thanks to all the vendors involved to help make this happen!

Tim and Jessie are super rad to hang out with. About ten minutes into the shoot, I felt like I was kickin’ it with good friends from way back in the day. We spent the time exploring new areas, chatting with on lookers and engaging in straight up tomfoolery. They met on a mission’s trip to Thailand through their church ,The Well in Fresno. He is a farmer and she is a teacher. I am really stoked for this couple. They shall be my last wedding of 2011 in November at the Santa Margarita Ranch. Stay Tuned.

Tim and Diane are wild, crazy, fun people to know. Their activities often include Fly fishing, RV-ing (yes you heard me right) and dog shows. Diane is a natural beauty and Tim is the grown up equivalent of a class clown and together things go from good to awesome! It was rad spending the weekend with them from the rehearsal dinner at the Madonna Inn, to the Epic wedding day at the Dolphin Bay Inn, and ending with a scrumptious oceanside brunch in Avlia Beach. The ladies from the Queens Bees dolled up Diane and the girls while Panacea Flowers bling-a-fied the whole place with their wonderful blooms. Necia and I got to work alongside a talented team of videographers strait from hawaii by the name of ARIA Studios. Finally Kramer weddings and The Photobooth Experience kept the party flowing into the night. Shooting at shell beach is aways a pleasure, not only do we get to spend the day in a swanky hotel but I get to take the couple down to shell beach for an amazing golden hour of epiciness sundown sess. Enjoy!

Whenever I drive the 46 and the 41 to fresno (i get those two confused) I gaze in wonder at the amount of space that is out there. There is a majestic wonder to the open spaces found in creation. On occasion I’ve seen rare and amazing things like lightening storms, elk and pronghorn antilope. It has a unique beauty that really only shows its true colors at rare times like a lightening storms, warm golden summer evenings or in the greenery or spring when the flowers are out in full brillance. I also wonder if anyone lives out here? Well to answer my quagmire, Christina’s family does! They own acres upon acres of ranch and orchard land. Christina spent here childhood exploring the beautiful California plains. Jason too had an upbringing in the open spaces of the world. Jason, a firefighter, works in the Bay area, but his heart is still in a land where you can hear yourself think so he lives here and works there. Necia and I were very blessed to have spend the evening with them at the parents ranch land. I love the stillness and vastness of open spaces, they remind me how small we are and how beautiful our world is. I hope you enjoy these snap shots of our evening session.

p.s. my wife rocks as a second shooter as is evident with these next few frames

Near the end of the busy month of august, Necia and I had the awesome privilege of venturing up to Monterey to photograph Mike and Rachel’s country club wedding. Even though it was overcast, the day was full of warm anticipation of the union of these two. The soft diffused light opened up the endless possibilities of photographic opportunity. This was truly an epic day. Thanks Mike and Rachel for having us! Enjoy the following story.

Warm august evenings make the best atmosphere for an outdoor wedding and what better venue to hold such an event than the Spanish Oaks Ranch in Santa Margarita. This is where Chad and Ali held their shindig celebrating their uniting as man and wife. It was awesome hanging out with them and witnessing the crazy energy that their close friends brought to scene. I hope you enjoy these few clips from the day.
