Narineh and I go way back to the days in the Cal Poly Art and Design Department. She currently is an art director at Level Studios here in SLO. When she got engaged to Raffi, I was super stoked. Necia and I (and Steven Hasegawa!) are excited to shoot their big fat armenian wedding this coming september! For this shoot, she wanted something to contrast the Bay area, where they were getting married. We planned an epic road trip down to LA and poured over several different locations until we found the Viceroy. As soon as we saw the images, we knew it would be perfect for them. So one february morning, we loaded up their car and headed down South.

Montecito, California Wedding | Justin + Lauren
Tuesday, December 13, 2011

I don’t know where to start really. I was seriously blown away at Justin and Lauren’s, epic wedding day in Montecito, California. Necia and I had such a seriously rad time that words escape me. So I will keep this brief and let my images do the talking. Ariel of Ariel Yve Designs worked with Lauren to help plan and coordinated the whole day. My Lovely wife aka Umbrella Tree Design created the invites, menu, hand crafted escort cards and table numbers. The ceremony was at the beautiful Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Montecito and the reception was at the incredible Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara. Just so you know, we are SUPER stoked for this couple. j+n

Warning, this post contains a ridiculous amount of images. Sorry I just couldn’t help my self. Brad and Annie came down from the Bay Area to our neck of the woods to have a super awesome ranch wedding at the Flying Caballos. Check it out!

Thanks to Kramer Weddings, Epic Weddings and Kristin Odenwald from Jour Parfait for helping to transform the bed and breakfast into Brad and Annie’s dream wedding!
The Dolphin Bay Wedding | Tim + Diane
Thursday, October 6, 2011

Tim and Diane are wild, crazy, fun people to know. Their activities often include Fly fishing, RV-ing (yes you heard me right) and dog shows. Diane is a natural beauty and Tim is the grown up equivalent of a class clown and together things go from good to awesome! It was rad spending the weekend with them from the rehearsal dinner at the Madonna Inn, to the Epic wedding day at the Dolphin Bay Inn, and ending with a scrumptious oceanside brunch in Avlia Beach. The ladies from the Queens Bees dolled up Diane and the girls while Panacea Flowers bling-a-fied the whole place with their wonderful blooms. Necia and I got to work alongside a talented team of videographers strait from hawaii by the name of ARIA Studios. Finally Kramer weddings and The Photobooth Experience kept the party flowing into the night. Shooting at shell beach is aways a pleasure, not only do we get to spend the day in a swanky hotel but I get to take the couple down to shell beach for an amazing golden hour of epiciness sundown sess. Enjoy!

San Luis Obispo, CA Engagement Shoot | Justin + Lauren
Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Justin and Lauren, What a rad couple. Justin is a firefighter/paramedic and Lauren is a nurse and they hail from Ventura but ventured up to San Luis Obispo for some epicness. We had an awesome time exploring SLO’s outdoor scenes. Our stylist Jamie Hill worked with Lauren to come up with their wardrobe and the ladies at The Queen’s Bees did her hair. Justin brought his childhood shred stick (aka skateboard, snowboard or surf board and in this instance…a surf board) and gave me the privilege of playing around with his grandpa’s rolleicord camera. I love old cameras, there is an art to those old film cameras that has been lost a little bit in the days of digital. The session ended when the fog rolled in as the sun set behind the hills. Necia and I had such a fun time, I can’t wait for their wedding in November at the Four Season Biltmore in Santa Barbara. Until then, Enjoy!

The Dana Powers House Wedding | Garrett + Christine
Saturday, July 30, 2011

I have to apologize in advance for this MEGA-TON blast of images. Garrett and Christine are good finds of ours and their wedding was off the hook. Steven and I ended up with so many amazing images due to the fact that they are a VERY attractive couple and they had a slew of amazing details they hand-crafted (also my hot wife was in the wedding party so I had to include lots of her too) that it was very hard to narrow them down. This wedding was so fun because a lot of our friends were there and Christine’s family is like a second family to Necia and I. The whole day was full of love and laughter from friends and family. The day was topped off with an epic sundown session, God was truly creating magic with color and light. The event was brought to you by The Booth Experience, Panacea Flowers, Kramer Weddings, Trumpet Vine Catering, and Finally Umbrella Tree Design aka my awesomely talented wife created the invitations and stationary for the event.

San Luis Obispo, CA Engagement Shoot | Ryan + Brittany
Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Meet our friends Brittany and Ryan. Necia meet Brittany at Cal Poly in the Art and Design department during painting class. When we were first married, Necia and I spent many a night over at their apartment cooking, playing settlers and other such board games, watching lost, and shooting zombies. Brittany is a creative type person that loves art, art history and making things look awesome. Ryan is into math, video games and can solve any rubix cube in a matter of minutes. They couldn’t be more opposite yet so perfect for each other. Being a graphic designer myself I was inspired to take one of their engagement photos and add some sweet graphics to compliment their personalities. Their wedding is next march and Necia and I are super stoked! stay tuned…

The Dana Powers House Wedding | Matt+Kristen
Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Im excited about this couple. Rain couldn’t put a damper on their spirits. They were excited the whole day, excited about their friends, family and most of all excited about each other. Matt looked dapper and Kristen was beaming with beauty, it was hard NOT to take a good picture of these two. Due to a threat of a nasty rain cloud, Judy from the DPH, Perry of Kramer Weddings, and Erin from Sprigs ‘n’ Things came out in full force to transform the barn into an amazingly beautiful ceremony and reception site blowing away everyone who stepped inside. Even though the sky looked sad, the clouds provided amazing light all day for me to play with. And for the first time (finally!) Necia and I had the pleasure… Neh!… privilege to work alongside my friend, Zach and his wife Wendy, from Still Water Cinematography . It was a quadruple team of creative awesomeness. Enjoy!

The White Palace Wedding | Trevor + Eva
Thursday, June 23, 2011

Take one Canuk from the Toronto and add one Latina Beauty from Buenos Aires and what do you get? Trevor and Eva. They are from foreign lands but met in San Francisco. They decided that their new home would be a great place to invite thier close friends and family to celebrate their nuptials. They planned the intimate event at The White Palace and with the help of Sadie from One Big Fish events the event was held with grace and elegance. It was so fun to be apart of a wedding with guests of diverse backgrounds (and accents!) Enjoy.

Palmdale Estates, Fremont, CA Wedding | Matt+Mary
Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Necia knew Mary from Cal Poly’s Art and Design department so right there we knew that their wedding was going to be top notch. They set the precedent with their amazing engagement shoot and follow through will wonderful brillance at their wedding. It was held at the beautiful palmdale estates. The scene was accompanied by tea cups with flowers and an awesome photo wall with props that they built themselves. The icing on the cake was their “get away” car was a 1950s ford complete with the original teal paint. There was a loving warm energy through out the day as Matt and Mary were surrounded by their close friends and family. Thanks guys for an awesome day.
I couldn’t have shot this wedding with out the help of my lovely wife, Necia. About half of the images on this post are hers. Enjoy
